Dübendorf ZH – The topping out ceremony for the Information Pavilion at the Innovation Park Zurich was on this year’s agenda. The wooden structure is scheduled to open in March.
The topping out ceremony included renaming the Eglishölzli bus
stop in Dübendorf. It is now called Innovationspark, according to
Switzerland Innovation. The pavilion
itself is both the flagship and meeting place of the Innovation
Park. The wooden structure will house office spaces for companies
working there, a public café and exhibition space.
The timber construction company Blumer-Lehmann prefabricated the
room modules for the pavilion. The primary and secondary
load-bearing structure will be placed onto these models after
assembly in the Innovation Park. The pavilion will be dismantled
after eight years, and the room modules and building envelope can
then be fully recycled.
A decentralized approach is being taken towards the companies
moving into the Innovation Park as they can only relocate once the
new zoning regulation comes into effect. This was approved by
voters on 26 November.
Until then, innovative companies can move into the premises of
Maagtechnic, which has expressed its long-term commitment to the
Innovation Park. It is offering 400-square-metres of space at the
Stettbach railway station at attractive conditions, serving in a
sense as a “waiting room”. The U.S. drone developer Matternet has
already accepted this offer.
