Zurich – Further progress has been made on the Innovation Park planned for the aerodrome in Dübendorf. The government council of Zurich has submitted a report to the cantonal council that forms the basis for further developing the site.

The aerodrome in Dübendorf is set to be transformed in the coming years into a lively urban quarter. Acting as an innovation and research hub, it will also have workspaces, while the existing aviation infrastructure is to be secured as a strategic reserve.

In a step forward for the plans, the Zurich government council has presented a synthesis report, according to a statement. The report was developed by the Swiss Federation, cantons and local authorities, and it forms the basis for further developing the site. As a next step, a special commission compiled by the cantonal government will advise on the report.

By spring 2022, the government council plans to submit three applications to the cantonal council, concerning the creation of planning rights and a revision to the structural plans as well as a planning loan.
