Shenzhen – The architectural firm Aedas has unveiled a project in Futian’s Shangsha Village in Shenzhen, China. The two-phase project incorporates an urban lifestyle centre, as well as residential and corporate towers.

Shenzhen C FutureCity is a two-phase project in Futian's Shangsha Village, Shenzhen, that highlights how we "converse with the future and render a unique shopping experience that advances the development of the city", according to the architects in an article for online magazine ArchDaily.

The first phase of the project includes high-rise twin office towers and residential towers to form a live-work complex, while the second phase includes residential, retail, recreation, cultural, and exhibition facilities. The themes of nature, technology and art will play into the plan to maintain the site’s village folk identity while revitalising it with a corporate tone, according to the article.

Organically shaped, low-rise buildings surrounded by greenery are planned for phase two. There will also be a public plaza with platforms for social gatherings, water fixtures and miniature gardens.
