Munich - The German technology company Siemens is partnering with PRODEA Investments to create smart, sustainable buildings in Greece. Siemens’ AI-enabled digital building platform Building X will enable the Greek real estate investment company to optimize building operations and support its energy efficiency goals.

Siemens has partnered with PRODEA Investments, a major real estate investment company in Greece, to implement the German technology company’s digital building platform Building X. The cloud-based platform can be used in buildings of various sizes to digitalize, manage and optimize building operations. The partnership seeks to reduce the carbon footprint of existing and under development building assets across PRODEA's real estate portfolio in Greece, according to a statement

The two companies signed a Strategic Cooperation Agreement, which starts with a pilot implementation of Building X. The pilot includes the connection of two PRODEA Investments’ properties in Athens. The goal is to proceed to the big office buildings of its portfolio, as well as logistics centers and hotels.

In the statement, Dr. Aris Karytinos, CEO of PRODEA Investments, described technology as “an accelerator of sustainability”. He said: “It is a step that will contribute overall to the development of high-tech investments in the field of real estate.” For Rahul Chillar, Head of Building X at Siemens Smart Infrastructure, Siemens’ capabilities of connecting the real and digital worlds make it a strong partner for companies looking to address their decarbonization goals.

PRODEA Investments can use Building X to make decisions about the energy management of its building portfolio based on real data analytics. The platform’s AI capabilities can identify areas of energy overconsumption and accurately predict the energy performance of its buildings based on live usage data.  ce/em
