Dubai – The Crown Prince of Dubai has issued a resolution to form a Supreme Committee for Urban Planning. The committee will work to implement the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan that seeks to make Dubai the best city in the world to live in.

The Supreme Committee for Urban Planning aims to regulate, ensure and implement all the required deliverables of the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan, to make Dubai the "best city in the world to live in", according to an article on ArchDaily. It will oversee all major infrastructure and urban projects, while also focusing on housing and regulation of the real estate sector. The aim is to improve the wellbeing of residents in the Emirati city. 

Formed under the chairmanship of His Excellency Mattar Mohammed Al Tayer, the General Commissioner of the Infrastructure, Urban Planning and Wellbeing Pillar, the committeee will have members including the Managing Director and CEO of the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority and the Director General of Dubai Municipality. Additional urban planning and economic experts will be named in the coming weeks.

Dubai has also launched an initiative to become the world leader in 3D printing, with plans for one quarter of all new buildings to be 3D printed by 2025. The strategy would cut costs in the construction sector and restructure economies and labour markets, according to the article.
