The Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL) is working on the development of improved Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) standards as part of the EU project INPERSO. The aim is to develop a new approach for IEQ assessments, which could then be used throughout Europe. It is claimed that this would help with renovation projects of residential and educational buildings.
Together with her team, Sarah Crosby, an EPFL researcher who is heading up the project, has evaluated several solution providers with a view to supplying the requisite environmental data for the project. According to a press release, a decision has now been made in favor of the Singapore-based company uHoo to be brought on board as a project partner. The company’s technology is able to measure a total of 13 parameters with the help of various sensors and present the data on a digital platform.
Dustin Jefferson Onghanseng, CEO and co-founder of uHoo, welcomes the partnership with the EPFL. “Our solution aims to make a significant impact in the built environment, fostering awareness and promoting a healthier, greener and more conscious approach towards indoor spaces”, he explains.
According to information from the company itself, the uHoo environmental platform is used worldwide by private and public organizations for commercial, residential and industrial buildings, in addition to healthcare facilities and airports.
